"It's obviously because nobody is there," she corrected him. His claim regarding 'unnaturally sharp hearing' sounded like nothing that was worth talking seriously, and she was quick to dismiss it. She couldn't hear another person; therefore, he had imagined it.
She followed him towards the tunnel--not because she trusted that he knew what he was doing, of course, but rather that she doubted it would matter where they explored first.
"We?" She shook her head, her expression remaining unchanged. "I have nothing to do with this ridiculous fantasy of yours."
